MSTRWRK ONE - ”1 SAMUEL 17”(David & Goliath)

    For the final art project in my highschool career, I have to steady my main works around 5 art pieces, (or paintings in this case), and dick around a theme of somesort. I chose to base 5 paintings around 5 stories of the bible, not interpreting them literally within the paintings, but to convey the simple concept of those story lines through sci-fi/ modern day ideas. 

Blasphemy is the least of my intentions.  My priority is to startle your religious ideas into an artistic appreciation for similar works all around, including my own.

Overall, I’m pretty content with what I’ve finished here at this stage, nodding over to the fact that I am absolutely not done with this yet. I need to fix the perspective issue on the ground, the robot’s hand, and possibly stretching the canvas itself over a 36”x12” frame as opposed to the 36”x18” it’s hugging onto right now.   

(& yeah… you can evidently tell I used Ashley Wood as a contemporary link of inspiration too. I’ve been studying his work recently. It’s been having quite the impact on my stroke work, haha) 

Assignment: create a vintage propaganda poster based on an element of modern technology.

I’d like to expand my mediums away from traditional tools, & right now, I’m gradually getting used to Adobe Programs. Collectively, I’ve only been using Photoshop for about 10 hours (because I never use class time efficiently). I made this poster under 2 hours. cool. (everything’s made from scratch too)

it’s nowhere near as fun as painting, or sketching though. I just need to put my wacom tablet to use. 

High-school comes in handy sometimes.
